The style and shape of the Cossack uniform reflects the far-reaching influence of the Tatars on everything from styles of dress to the political structure of the Imperial Courts in Russia. Similar clothing styles can be found from Mongolia to Iran, through the southern Caucasus region, and on into Turkey and Hungary.
Folkwear is pleased to again present the Russian Cossack Uniform as a special printing. The pattern consists of a a full-length Coat, knee-length Tunic, drawstring Trousers with a fly, and a Cap. The pattern comes from an original uniform with the coat made ofred wool broadcloth trimmed with gold galloon, the tunic of white cotton pique, trousersof wool broadcloth and a wool cap with brim of black Persian lamb.
This is a PDF pattern and will be available for download after checkout. The PDF folder includes files for 36 inch printing for copyshops (5 files), A0 printing for copyshops (5 files), sewing instructions, authentic detailing, and pattern introduction. There is NOT a file for printing this pattern at home.
Suggested Fabrics:
Coat, Trousers, and Cap: Medium to heavy weight wool, cotton, linen, or silk.
Tunic: Light to medium weight cotton, linen, or blends.
